London Road, Dunton Green Road Closure effective Fri 4th April (due to gas main leak)

After the inactivity over the weekend, DGPC contacted SGN this morning (as well as KCC). There has now been quite a lot activity on site today (Monday 8th April).

SGN response from today, as follows:
WCB Utilities is the contractor undertaking work to urgently replace this section of pipework for us. They’ve advised the works team have now been fully mobilised and are preparing the area for a gas operation to replace the affected pipe in full on Wednesday.

Following that we’ll be repairing the road surface on Thursday and Friday, and once the surface has had time to set – remove the road closure and traffic lights on Sunday evening ready for Monday morning 15 April.

We’re sorry for the disruption caused, and thank the Dunton Green community for their patience and support while we carry out this essential work.

Obviously this still means disruption for the rest of the week. Please also note that there are other planned works (with traffic management be that lights or 'give and take') potentially starting in DG from w/c 15th April.

If we hear any further updates about the road closure, we will advise.
